Viticulture know-how of the Romero García family comes from a multiplicity of different training they have acquired and implement in the country. The great property, with one million nine hundred thousand square metres of extension, counts only with a limited vineyard extension – the pampered in the terrain – of six hectares.

After an initial experimental planting, the varieties with the better results in grape quality, adaptation to the soil and climate, as well as edaphological features that happened in this testing stage, led to the plantation of vineyards parcelled up per vine varieties. Pruning is made with the Royat Cordon in cross system.

The red grape vines currently in production are Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Some of these grapevines count already with an age of more than 20 years.

The white grape vines for production working are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and as a novelty a little part of Muscatel of Alexandria.

Formerly the red variety Shiraz was used, but nowadays it is not active any more. If you wish to taste Shiraz from Anchurón, we only can refer to historical wines, with just a few bottles remaining in the market. If you have already visited other sections of this website, you may check Anchurón makes wine exclusively from its own harvest, so it is not possible to trade this Shiraz variety in new vintages for the moment. It is part of the relics just a few can reach.

Each vintage begins with the vegetative beginning of the vines, which in a careful field task culminates in the harvest. This moment is the time of change between viticulture and viniculture, giving way to winemaking.
